Parisien enquiry

We hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas and want to wish you all a very happy, healthy and successful 2014.

We’re really excited about the year ahead… we’ve got lots of fantastic projects lined up and as of January the Maple & Gray team will be 6!  It’s amazing what can happen in a year and we can’t wait to see where we will be in 12 months time.

We receive lots of interesting enquiries and we thought we’d share a lovely email from a lady this week.

“We're very impressed with your work and are wondering if you do projects in Paris.  Please let us know as we are remodeling an apartment we just purchased in Paris.
Thank you in advance for your reply. “

Given I have close family living in Paris, it made me really happy to read this email. I sadly had to decline the opportunity as we’re just not set up to manage overseas projects at this stage.

I wasn’t expecting a reply but I had an equally delightful response.

“Thank you for your reply.  We look forward to following your projects for inspiration. “

Despite being a really short interaction… it really makes us smile to deal with such lovely people… I’m only sorry we are unable to make her kitchen.

Perhaps one day in the not too distant future…. We’ll be making projects on the continent! (-:

Almost there...

We've been busy fitting a stunning kitchen in Pyrford the last couple of weeks.  The exterior cabinetry is painted in The Little Greene's "Shirting" and the interior finish is in walnut.  It's not quite finished but here's a snap shot of how it's all coming together.

Initial stages with carcasses going in and units being assembled...

The doors, drawers, cornice, skirting and granite are now fitted and we've got a few more finishing touches to add including the polished chrome handles.

This is only a little glimpse of the whole kitchen.  We can't wait to show you the professional shots in the New Year!

Happy customers...

We’ve had a very busy few months fitting wardrobes and kitchens and we've got a big project to fit in the run up to Christmas.  We've also got lots of exciting things booked in next year which we can't wait to get our teeth into.

We've had some lovely feedback recently and it’s really great to hear that all our hard work is appreciated. (-:

Grey kitchen

We've just fitted a beautiful grey kitchen in Sunningdale.  It's a stunning family home which has been completely renovated in the last 6 weeks.  All the internal walls downstairs have been knocked through to create this incredible open light living and dining space.  There's a lovely warm feel to the home and it just works perfectly for a family with young children.

The cabinetry is painted in The Little Greene's "French Grey" and it's complemented by a brilliant white quartz worktop.

The view from the dining area through to the kitchen.  You can find the stylish pendant lights and table cloth from John Lewis.

The island has a tongue and groove back panel and a skirting.

The island includes a wine rack, book case and integrated bin.

Polished chrome cup handles on all the drawers.

Each different area is clearly defined yet the grey scheme links the whole room together.

Striking white quartz worktop with Caple Yorkshire Belfast sink and Abode Ludlow Monobloc tap with ceramic handles.

Round polished chrome handles on all the doors.

A huge thank you to Louise Bushell photography for taking all of our amazing new shots!

Knaphill Kitchen

We're delighted to share the photos from last weeks shoot.  We're really pleased with how it all looks and hope you like the kitchen as much as we do!

We've tried to include a lots of details but there's so much that goes into a project like this, it's tricky to mention it all.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

This characterful cottage is set in the heart of Knaphill.  Once the village sweet shop, it’s since been extended into a beautiful family home.  The kitchen is a focal point within the house, linking the dining and TV room to create a fluid, flexible and really user friendly living area.

The cabinetry is a traditional shaker style design with additional beading around the door and drawer frames.  It's made from solid tulip wood and painted in The Little Greene’s “Slaked Lime Mid”.

There are 3 bespoke solid walnut cutlery trays in each of the top drawers.

The kitchen features a mobile pastry block on casters which can be moved into the centre of the room to act as an island or set back to one side to allow more space.

The glazed dresser displays all the glassware and incorporates a stunning burr walunt tray in the bottom.

The use of walnut naturally compliments the pale cabinetry and is throughout the kitchen with a 40 mm thick solid stave worktop, a walnut kick board and a stunning wood interior.
The kitchen also boasts a double larder with wooden spice racks, shelving, baskets and a drawer.

The French style fridge, wine cooler and cooker are all Rangemaster appliances.  The sink is a Franke granite composite under mount with a Churchmans ceramic handle tap.

Stunning slate tiles have been used for the flooring and Fired Earth "Contignac Merlot" tiles provide the  striking splash back behind the range cooker.

A huge thank you to Louise Bushell Photography for all our fab photos!

New heater

We've got lots going on at the moment and one of the biggest highlights for us this week was the installation of our new heater at the barn.  It will have a dual role - burning all our waste and treating it in the process so that it doesn't emit any toxic fumes.  It will also heat the entire barn (2000 sq feet) and keep the guys nice and warm through the winter!  Last year was a bit chilly in there to say the least!!

New kit

The guys are really chuffed with their new table saw!  It may not seem very exciting but it's a big machine that will make their lives much easier.  They've had lots of fun (!!) putting it together this week and have a lovely pile of timber waiting to be chopped up!

Our little playhouse...

As if he's not busy enough our main man still manages to come home and knock this fab house up for his little boys 4th Birthday!  Of course we smartened it up with a touch of Farrow & Ball "Mizzle".  It looks amazing and we also have a very happy birthday boy! (-:

Wimbledon Project

We've been busy up in Wimbledon fitting 2 sets of bedroom wardrobes, some under stair storage and shelving.  The pictures aren't professionally taken so they don't do the work justice but it will give you an idea of what we've been up to!

The guest room has 4 large sliding doors with inset handles, internal drawers, shelves and hanging space.  Exterior painted in Farrow & Ball "White Tie" - interior oak finish.

Master bedroom - Full length doors painted in Farrow & Ball "White Tie".

Under stair storage with pull out storage.

A new arrival at the farm...

We love the farm where we have our workshop and today one of the horses had a little foal.  It may not be the most glamorous environment to work in but the setting is gorgeous and moments like this just make you smile.

Pale primrose and gray

We thought we'd try a pale primrose and gray scheme.   It doesn't always work but just the right touch of very pale yellow with gray can look really striking and chic.  Here's our attempt at getting the balance right.

Balham Kitchen...

We've made a gorgeous kitchen in Balham recently.  It was a tricky space to design as is was a fairly small area with lots of angles - but we're really happy with the end result and thought you might like to see a before and after!
